Teacake, a Jersey steer, was named for a beloved character in Zora Neale Hurston's novel, The Eyes Were Watching God.

He came to Chena Manor from another sanctuary, after escaping from a county fair.  Teacake was at the fairgrounds, about to become part of the menu, when he wandered off and made his escape to safety. 

Once arriving at Chenoa Manor, Teacake was joined by two young lady friends - Olivia & Hazel.
