Visiting Chenoa Manor

As a youth-focused community learning center, we offer a variety of programs and workshops that allow visitors an up-close look at what daily life is like at the farm. Those who visit should be individuals who truly wish to gain a better understanding of the unique projects and potential at Chenoa, and not simply curiosity-seekers or people who consider themselves animal lovers.

2. Book a Private Group Workshop

We offer unique private programs for those interested in experiencing our space and learning more about what it is like to run an animal sanctuary. Workshops include activities centered around our three core pillars: animals, horticulture, and art.

3. Schedule a Quiet Reflection Session

Visitors to Chenoa often comment on the peaceful aura that surrounds our space. For those of you who wish to experience the essence of Chenoa through meditation, we invite you to schedule a 90-minute session of sitting and silence. There is a multitude of comfortable and cozy nooks by the stream where you will be able to respectfully observe the residents and the natural world unfold around you. Sit in one spot for the entire session, or walk quietly streamside.

Please note, quiet reflection sessions do not include access inside animal pastures or a guided tour of the space. Sessions must be scheduled with us in advance, email [email protected]. The donation for 90 minutes is $30.

4. Become a Benefactor

We offer complimentary private tours for Chenoa benefactors (supporters who have donated $1000 or more). Private tours are available on a limited basis and are scheduled around our youth programs and the daily operations of Chenoa Manor. Please email us for more information at [email protected].

5. Try Shepherding

We are fortunate to have a variety of green grazing spaces for our residents to utilize, from spacious pastures to stream-side foraging. The resident goat and sheep herds occasionally get the opportunity to explore (with supervision) the wooded thickets of our property, where they nibble on tasty-yet-invasive weeds and vines.

We are now offering the opportunity for visitors to experience shepherding with the goats or sheep during these wooded and stream-side excursions. Each session will allow one person to shepherd for a 90 minute time period, in return for a donation of $50. To select a date or learn more, please email [email protected].

6. Zoom with Our Residents

re all of your zoom meetings blending into one another? Now’s your chance to add some spice to your next gathering or meeting! Invite one of our friendly faces to join in on your next video call. Choose from Bette the big pig, Jamar the cow, Zulu the sulcata tortoise, or a birds-eye view of the chicken coop.

Zoom with Animals

“In the midst of a stressful week, Bette’s surprise appearance in our daily Zoom staff meeting proved a wonderful “pig me up” to staff morale. My colleagues were charmed and delighted, and the animals had us chuckling long after the end of the meeting. Thanks so much, Chenoa!”
– Celia Caust-Ellenbogan, Swarthmore College Friends Historical Library

Schedule your zoom meeting now! Email [email protected] for availability. Sessions are 15 minutes and require a $50 donation.
